Raku is a centuries old Japanese tradition of making pottery. This urn was hand thrown on a potter’s wheel by Ronald Franklin, an award winning raku artist. The pale matte green earthy-toned body has lovely flashing- a record of the kiln atmosphere and the firing process. The set in lush green lid has splash of rich red bronze on its delicate knob. Through masterful firing techniques, the artist exacts both the red and the green colors from the same glaze. A very tactile and intimate piece, it nestles in your hands. This is the actual urn you will receive. Once it has been sold, there will be no more exactly like it. This original one-of-a-kind urn is signed by the artist.
The top opening lid may be sealed with glue (included).
