Raku is a centuries old Japanese tradition of making pottery. This tiny urn was hand thrown on a potter’s wheel by Ronald Franklin, an award winning raku artist. The urn was inspired by the passage from Ecclesiastes from the Old Testament. (To every thing there is a season and a purpose under heaven..) It has two chambers, suitable for a portion of two individuals. This lovely forest green urn has a dark matte top embellished with a gilded bas- relief leaf. The pure gold was imported from Germany. A very tactile piece, it is a pleasure to hold. This is the actual urn you will receive. Once it has been sold, there will be no more exactly like it. This original one-of-a-kind urn is signed by the artist.
The top opening lid as well as the two sections may be sealed with glue (included).
